Court Day: ⚖️ Presenting the Eviction Case 📁 to the Magistrate in NC!

In North Carolina, this hearing determines whether the landlord (plaintiff) will be granted possession of the property and/or a money judgment against the tenant for unpaid rent.

It’s court day! We've officially reached the final step in the North Carolina eviction process: presenting the case before the Magistrate Judge.
This didn't happen overnight. Here's what we've done to get here:
✅ Served the 10-Day Notice to Pay or Vacate
✅ Filed the Summary Ejectment paperwork
✅ Delivered the serve documents to the Sheriff’s Department at least 7 days prior to the court date
✅ Built the full file:
• Signed Lease Agreement
• Tenant ledger showing rent delinquency
• Copy of the 10-Day Notice
• Service confirmation from the Sheriff's Office
All of this is necessary to properly present our case. The magistrate will ask for these documents as evidence during the hearing, and the tenant will have the opportunity to respond or refute the claims.
Unfortunately, no cameras are allowed inside the courtroom without prior permission, so I’ll update you all after the hearing with what happened.
