The WW2 Ingenious German Waffen SS belt buckle pistol, also known as a 'Koppelschloßpistole' was a unique and rare weapon designed by Louis Marquis, an engineer and inventor who conceived the idea while interned in a World War I prisoner of war camp in 1915. Marquis patented the design in 1934 and reportedly received an order in 1943 from Heinrich Himmler to produce a few examples for high-ranking SS officers as a last-ditch defensive tool in case of capture. These belt buckle pistols were typically chambered in .22 LR and featured a hinged cover plate that revealed a barrel block containing four separate barrels, each individually triggered. The design required the barrel block to be pushed into the closed position to cock all four barrels simultaneously. The original examples were marked with SS insignia and featured an SS eagle emblem on the front cover. The underside of the original belt plates were stamped with the name of its inventor 'Louis Marquis W-Elberfeld'.
