On September 23, 2024, shortly after midnight, a pursuit of suspected undocumented individuals near Anna Avenue and Madison Street in Laredo, Texas, escalated into a physical altercation between a Border Patrol Agent and one subject. The incident began when RVSS and drone surveillance operators detected the group near the Laredo Regional Food Bank and monitored their movement toward the Rio Grande River.

As agents responded, three individuals fled in different directions. During one foot pursuit into dense brush, a physical struggle lasting approximately 1 minute and 10 seconds broke out between an agent and a subject. Both were repeatedly stung by bees swarming the area. Amid the struggle, the agent discharged one round from his service weapon, striking the subject in the right buttock.
