What is the Fate of Nations That Spread Corruption and Prevent Truth?

Brothers, sisters, friends and elders Assalamu Alaikum, wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu, we are presenting the 130th episode of the Islamic informative video based on healing and events from the Holy Quran, and in this video we will describe,What is the Fate of Nations That Spread Corruption and Prevent Truth?

Throughout the Qur’an and Sunnah, Allah makes it clear that nations that spread corruption on earth and actively prevent the truth from reaching people are subject to severe consequences, both in this world and the Hereafter. Corruption is not limited to environmental damage or economic injustice alone; it encompasses moral decay, societal oppression, spreading disbelief, and obstructing the path of Allah. Such nations, despite their material power, are destined to decline when they persist in evil and hinder righteousness.

One of the most powerful verses on this subject is found in Surah Al-Anfal 39, where Allah commands the believers to fight against oppression until justice prevails:

"And fight them until there is no more fitnah (persecution or corruption) and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do."

This verse shows that one of the legitimate reasons for armed struggle in Islam is to put an end to fitnah, which includes tyranny, idolatry, and preventing people from practicing their faith freely. Nations that promote such fitnah and obstruct the path of Islam are warned that Allah is fully aware of their actions and that justice will be served.

The Qur’an also recounts the fate of earlier nations who followed similar paths of corruption and rebellion. In **Surah Al-A‘raf verse 91-92, Allah says:

"So We took each (nation) for its sin; of them were those on whom We sent a storm of stones, and of them were those who were seized by the blast, and of them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and of them were those whom We drowned. And Allah was not to wrong them, but they wronged themselves."

These examples—ranging from the people of Lut, Thamud, and Pharaoh—demonstrate the pattern of divine justice. When nations turn away from truth, oppress their people, and work against divine guidance, Allah sends them signs and warnings. If they persist, they face destruction in various forms.

Another powerful warning comes from Surah Al-Baqarah verses 11-12:

"And when it is said to them, 'Do not cause corruption on the earth,' they say, 'We are only reformers.' Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive it not."

Here, Allah highlights the hypocrisy of those who commit corruption while pretending to promote reform. Such deception is not hidden from Allah, and their fate is sealed unless they repent.

The Prophet Muhammad ? also warned of the danger and punishment of those who spread corruption. In a powerful hadith, Sunan Abu Dawood, Hadith 4338, he said:

"Any nation among whom sins are committed openly, and they are able to change it but do not, soon Allah will send His punishment upon them all."

This hadith teaches that when corruption becomes normalized and the righteous remain silent, the entire society becomes accountable. The failure to uphold truth and justice leads to communal punishment.

Moreover, in Sahih Muslim Hadith 1688, the Prophet (PBUH) said:

"The people who came before you were destroyed because when a noble person among them stole, they let him go, but when a weak person stole, they inflicted the punishment. By Allah, if Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, were to steal, I would cut off her hand."

This hadith addresses systemic corruption—when justice is selectively applied, and power is used to protect the elite while oppressing the weak. Such injustice brings about societal collapse.

In conclusion, the fate of nations that spread corruption and prevent truth is one of inevitable decline and divine punishment. Whether through natural disasters, internal collapse, or external defeat, these nations are doomed when they continuously reject Allah’s guidance, oppress the innocent, and hinder the spread of truth. The Qur’an and Sunnah offer not just warnings but also lessons: reform, justice, and obedience to Allah are the only path to survival and true success.

With this, we ask for your permission until tomorrow and pray to Allah Almighty to grant us the ability to act on the Quran and Hadith, Amen

Allah Hafiz
