2 people dead, 1 in critical condition following shooting in Glenwood

GLENWOOD, IOWA – Authorities in Glenwood are investigating a violent incident that left two people dead, another in critical condition, and a home engulfed in flames Wednesday evening.

The suspect, identified as Dennis Burrell, is believed to have shot the victims before setting fire to his residence.

During a late-night press conference, Glenwood Police Chief Eric Johansen confirmed that officers, along with deputies from the Mills County Sheriff's Office, responded to reports of an active shooter at approximately 7:56 p.m.

The incident occurred at a residence located at 409 North Grove Street.
