Disney’s Going to Hide Streaming Data Following Dwindling Subscribers

Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement that in the future they will no longer report subscriber data for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

In defense of Disney, they are following in the lead of Netflix who made a similar announcement late last year. However, Netflix has been profitable for some time whereas Disney+ has yet to reach profitability on its own despite Bob Iger telling investors it was going to reach profitability by Q4 of 2024. Since then, Disney has stopped speaking on profitability, but have reported subscriber number which have been decreasing. It really seems as if Disney is trying to conceal their failure from share holders and hope shareholder will take Disney at its word when they say they’re actually making money.
