"The Cincinnati Beat Down." Nothing to See Here Folks

On the early morning of July 27th, 2025, in downtown Cincinnati, a middle-aged couple was brutally attacked outside the LoVe Nightclub—surrounded by a violent crowd, filmed, laughed at, and left bleeding on the sidewalk.

The woman, known only as Holly, was knocked unconscious. Her face shattered against the pavement.
The man, her partner, was assaulted as he tried to protect her.
100 people watched. Only one person called 911.

And yet… this isn’t being called a hate crime.
There are no national headlines.
No marches.
No justice.

The following individuals have been charged and arrested:

Montianez Merriweather, 34 — Charged with felonious assault and aggravated riot; seen whispering instructions before the ambush.

Dekyra Vernon, 24 — Charged with felonious assault and aggravated riot.

Jermaine Matthews, 39 — Arrested and charged with aggravated riot and assault; bond set at $100,000.

Two more unnamed suspects have also been charged. Warrants are still active.

Councilwoman Victoria Parks said publicly:

“They begged for that beatdown.”

And she still holds office.

Mayor Aftab Pureval claims there’s no evidence this was racially motivated… even though the only white people in the video were the ones bleeding.

If the victims had been Black—how many cities would be burning right now?
