It is followed by the lamentations of Micah 1:10-15, which lament the destruction of Samaria (capital of Ephraim/Israel) and Jerusalem (capital of Judah). Both 2 Samuel 1:18 and Micah 1:10-15 express how Israel's enemies would rejoice at Israel's fall and take full advantage of their weakened state, which was even more detrimental to Israel given the fact that in their conquering of the promised land, they allowed 8 enemy nations in 20 different cities to remain amongst them. Will the Israelites/black slave descendants make this mistake again after the Second Exodus? No. "The eternal Creator is your (Israel's) refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and He shall thrust out the enemy from before you; AND SHALL SAY, DESTROY THEM. Israel then shall dwell in safety ALONE: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. Happy are you, O Israel: who is like unto you, O people saved by YAH, the shield of your help, and who is the sword of your excellency! And your enemies shall be found liars unto you; and you shall tread upon their high places." (Deuteronomy 33:27-29)
