About Michael: Michael Donnellan is an archaeologist, filmmaker, and former Disney animator whose multifaceted career has taken him from the world of entertainment to groundbreaking historical discoveries. Born with a curiosity for the past, Michael pursued archaeology at Deree College (The American College of Greece), studying Minoan and Mycenaean sites, including Akrotiri in Santorini and ancient Crete. His early passion for martial arts shaped his discipline and drive, leading to a successful career in the field before he transitioned into the entertainment industry. As a creative director and VFX supervisor, Michael worked with major studios like Disney and 20th Century Fox, contributing to iconic animated projects. In 2015, his love for archaeology reignited, prompting him to found Ingenio Films and embark on ambitious expeditions, including the search for Egypt’s Lost Labyrinth of Hawara, King John’s lost baggage train in Norfolk, England, and the wreck of the Bonhomme Richard. His most notable work is the Atlantica documentary series, where he leads a team investigating the ruins of Atlantis off the coast of Cádiz, Spain, using cutting-edge technologies like sonar and LiDAR. Michael’s discoveries, presented at the Cosmic Summit 2025, have captivated audiences worldwide, challenging conventional views of ancient history.
