1987 WEREWOLF Fox Network TV Premiere Episode
MemoryCryptofCastleHills
In 1987 I was 23 years old and was excited to see the new FOX Network while it was aborning. I was super happy that they would have a TV series about a WEREWOLF...
Plot: The series follows Eric Cord, a graduate student who becomes a werewolf after being bitten by his roommate, who is also a werewolf. Eric embarks on a journey to find and kill the originator of his werewolf bloodline, Janos Skorzeny, in hopes of breaking the curse. Along the way, he is pursued by a determined bounty hunter, "Alamo" Joe Rogan. Later, Eric discovers Nicholas Remy is the true originator of the bloodline he must confront.
Cast: The show starred John J. York as Eric Cord, Lance LeGault as "Alamo" Joe Rogan, and Chuck Connors (in his last television role) as Janos Skorzeny. Brian Thompson also later joined the cast as Nicholas Remy.
Werewolf is an American horror series, and one of the original shows in the Fox network's broadcast line-up during its inaugural season of 1987–1988.
The show follows the adventures of Eric Cord (John J. York), a college student transformed into a werewolf who undergoes a quest to rid himself of his curse by killing the apparent originator of his "bloodline," a drifter named Janos Skorzeny (the character's name is a reference to the name of the vampire in the classic TV film The Night Stalker) played by Chuck Connors (in his last television role). While pursuing Skorzeny, Cord himself is pursued by the persistent bounty hunter "Alamo" Joe Rogan (Lance LeGault). Later, Cord hunts Nicholas Remy (Brian Thompson), the real originator of the bloodline.
The show aired a two-hour pilot and 28 half-hour episodes before being canceled in 1988.

1987 Werewolf FOX Network TV Series Episode #20 EYE OF THE STORM
MemoryCryptofCastleHills
In 1987 I was 23 years old and I was super excited that there was a TV Series based on a WEREWOLF. The 1987 werewolf TV series was simply titled Werewolf, and it was one of the original shows on the brand-new Fox network. The series ran for a single season from July 1987 to May 1988, airing 29 episodes. Premise: The show followed the cursed college student Eric Cord (played by John J. York) who, after being bitten by his werewolf roommate, must find and kill the originator of his "bloodline" to break the curse.
Format: The structure was similar to The Incredible Hulk or The Fugitive, with Eric Cord traveling from place to place, helping people in different towns, all while being pursued by a persistent bounty hunter named "Alamo" Joe Rogan (Lance LeGault).
Main Antagonist: The initial target was Janos Skorzeny, the powerful and malevolent werewolf who infected Eric's friend, played by Chuck Connors in his final television role.
Special Effects: The series was noted for its impressive practical special effects and werewolf make-up designed by the Oscar-winning artist Rick Baker.
Cancellation: Despite critical acclaim for its special effects and engaging storyline, the show was canceled due to the high production costs associated with the special effects and music licensing, not poor ratings.

Later, Cord hunts Nicholas Remy (Brian Thompson), the real originator of the bloodline.
episode #2 Nightwatch After trailing Skorzeny to a shipyard, Eric is set upon by a pair of seamen looking to collect the bounty on his head. Guest stars: Denny Miller, Henry Beckman, Grand L. Bush.

Re-Run 1987 WEREWOLF Fox Network TV Series The Black Ship
MemoryCryptofCastleHills
The 1987 werewolf TV series was simply titled Werewolf, and it was one of the original shows that helped launch the Fox network. The series followed the format of shows like The Fugitive and The Incredible Hulk, featuring a man on the run who is pursued by a bounty hunter while he hunts for a cure.
The show centered on Eric Cord (played by John J. York), a graduate student whose life is derailed when his best friend, a werewolf, asks Eric to kill him with a silver bullet. Eric witnesses his friend's transformation and is bitten in the ensuing struggle, forcing him to shoot and kill the creature. Now cursed with lycanthropy and a fugitive wanted for murder, Eric embarks on a quest to find and kill the "originator" of his bloodline—the individual whose bite started the chain of transformations—which he believes is the only way to break the curse.
"The Black Ship" is the fourth episode of the 1987 TV series Werewolf, which aired on August 1, 1987, on the Fox Network. The series was one of Fox's inaugural primetime shows and followed the format of shows like The Fugitive or The Incredible Hulk.
In "The Black Ship," the main character, Eric Cord (played by John J. York), is on a quest to find and kill Janos Skorzeny (played by Chuck Connors) to break his werewolf curse. He locates Otto Renfield (Stefan Gierasch), a crippled old sailor who claims to know Skorzeny and offers to help Eric find him.
However, Renfield is a former associate of Skorzeny and ultimately betrays Eric, trapping him in the hold of his ship to use him as bait for Skorzeny. The episode title and plot allude to the ship Demeter from Bram Stoker's Dracula, which carried the vampire to England. The character names "Janos Skorzeny" and "Otto Renfield" are references to characters from classic horror works, specifically the vampire in the 1972 TV film The Night Stalker and Count Dracula's servant in the 1931 film Dracula, respectively.
