Atlantis and the Gods of Antiquity

In this video, we continue to explore the Secret Teachings of All Ages by Manly Palmer Hall. As the title reveals, the theme we are focusing on is the mysterious tradition surrounding the stories of Atlantis. Plato introduced Atlantis in two of his dialogues, Timaeus and Critias, written around 360 BCE. According to the story: Atlantis was a vast and technologically advanced island empire located beyond the "Pillars of Heracles" (modern Strait of Gibraltar). It was larger than Libya and Asia combined, rich in resources, and organized in concentric rings of land and water. The Atlanteans became corrupt and imperialistic, attempting to conquer Athens and other regions. As punishment for their arrogance, the gods caused Atlantis to sink into the sea in a single day and night of misfortune.
