FALLON: “Congrats on everything you’ve done. It’s amazing.”
GUTFELD: “Thanks.”
(Cheering and Applause)
FALLON: “But in addition to ‘Gutfeld!’ and ‘The Five,’ you started hosting a new gameshow.”
GUTFELD: “Yeah. It’s called ‘What Did I Miss?’”
FALLON: “No, I’m excited about this.”
GUTFELD: “Oh, this is the greatest idea for a gameshow. Because you ever wonder about the people that get sequestered for like ‘The Bachelor’ or ‘Love Island?’ They miss all this news. And they come out, they have no idea that, like, who was elected president, or that their husband left them for a maid.
(Laughter)
All these things, None of these things they know. And I thought, ‘That’s the show!’ So we put people in a house upstate. It’s like a house where a a family goes missing. Very strange. They’re up in the house — they’re up in the house, they have no idea what’s going on.”
FALLON: “They have no phones, nothing.”
GUTFELD: “Nothing. And then when they come out, we quiz them on the news, fake or false, fake or false. And with Trump, you can’t tell.
(Laughter)
’cause like, for example, imagine somebody says to you, ‘True or false, the president demands an annexation of Canada.’”
FALLON: “Yeah. No.”
GUTFELD: “But it’s Trump.”
FALLON: “Yes, it definitely happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah.”
(Laughter)
GUTFELD: “That was — that was — “
FALLON: “Wow!”
GUTFELD: “Yeah, it was — and so, it was an amazing show. The best part about this show is we didn’t pay ’em anything.
(Laughter)
So, get this, $25,000 for 100 days. If you work it out after taxes, they owe us money.”
FALLON: “Yeah, that’s terrible.”
(Laughter)
