Growing Azaleas in Alkaline Soil

Azaleas prefer acidic soil, but you can grow them in alkaline soil by amending it with sulfur or peat moss to lower pH. Using acidifying fertilizers and mulch also helps maintain the right conditions for healthy growth and vibrant blooms.
