The terrible treble hook! Great for catching fish and your finger so bring needle nose pliers.

This month I’m switching lures and fishing locations searching for big bass or whatever’s biting. The best lure today was a ‘popper’. A pack of 3 cost around 7 bucks. The good thing about a popper is that it floats so it doesn’t get caught in the weeds. I fish this lure very slow letting it sit with little pops and slow drags. So far the bass hit pretty quick.

I you look at a bass, and I look at bass a lot, their eyes are on top so they see upwards very well. Surface baits like a frog, popper or propeller work nicely in areas of heavy vegetation like along banks and shallows. Just get as close as you can to the bank and let it sit. Sometimes I’ll throw on the bank in grass and pull the lure into the water, seems kinda natural.

My EP6 head cam broke and wasn’t covered by warranty, ugh. So I ordered a used EP8. I tried the box cams but they have deficits;

1 - box cams are fixed and don’t turn with your head
2 - I attached it to a necklace kinda device but it slips below my PFD (life preserver) a lot. Bummer on that.
3 - the sound is a lot less and I thought the head cam wasn’t so good. This is way worse. The reason is that it is mounted in a waterproof box. Go figure, but I would rather it be in a water proof box mount when I’m on the water. Same for biking just to keep the lens safe, but that’s another story.
4 - a box cam points wherever so sometimes it gets boat, other times sky and sometimes sits at an angle. When fishing it’s a bit of a chore to keep up with it.
5 - in the waterproof box I can’t attach an external power cord so when the batter goes out I switch to another cam - takes time.
6 - for some reason after I switched cameras the second one just zoomed in and stayed that way so I had no useful video of the third bass catch of the day. I also missed a big one and had no useful video of that one.

Anyway, it is what it is. I should be back to normal soon.

The weather has beed quite nice. The last few days have been way cooler than it has been in July. And it’s a full moon this weekend so it’s a Great time to fish!! Most calendars show when the full moon is - fish the days before during and after.
