To this day, I get so angry when I see pictures that portray Jesus as 'white' and, worse, his hair as blond. I have been living in the USA for a number of years now and I am surprised that so many citizens of the USA, genuinely believe that image is accurate and then they use it for actions contrary to the teachings of Jesus in the Christian Bible. My father was British and my mother was Norwegian-American. They met and married in Tibet and I was conceived there. They moved to India and I was born there. We lived there until I was 16 when my mother died and is buried in India. Later, after a year in the USA, the family moved to Hong Kong where I went to university; the only Caucasian in my class. I wanted to stay in HK but my father insisted that I go to the USA to graduate school. So I grew up, always the minority. Most of my friends, including the man I wanted to marry, HAQD skin that was a darker shade than mine. So I learned early that Jesus came from what is now the Middle East so his skin wouldn't have been 'white ', and I am so glad as I relate much better to a person there and in Africa and India, than a person whose skin is 'white' from Europe and the USA.

For years I've wondered why Joseph, Mary, Jesus, the Apostles and other Biblical personages were always shown as white in images. There are no references to Jesus' appearance prior to his Crucifixion, but even so, it's a question easily solved using common sense and science. Both his mother and father's family called Africa and the Middle East home for several generations. That alone negates any possibility that he's white. But let's think about the sun. A white man would be severely, lethally burned, quickly. They have insufficient melanin to protect themselves. Nevermind the soft, fine thin hair. The scalp would be exposed. I could go on and on. If someone thinks Jesus was white, then most likely facts won't matter. Think, people.
