Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert reviews "Matinee" (A Delightful Coming of Age Story set in an era between the Cuban Missile Crisis and a Sci-Fi B-Horror film in a movie theatre. From director, Joe Dante. Starring: John Goodman, Cathy Moriarty, Dick Miller and Robert Picardo.); "Alive" (A Risky Survival Drama set on a plane crash in the Andes snowy mountain with Cannibalism and Religious tones. Based on a True Story from director, Frank Marshall. Starring: Ethan Hawke, Vincent Spano, Illeana Douglas and John Malkovich.); "Body of Evidence" (A poor "Basic Instinct" clone, awful sex thriller and a lame courtroom drama with a wasted talented cast of Willem Dafoe, Joe Mantegna, Anne Archer, Julianne Moore and even Madonna who takes the blame for her worse performance.) and "Sniper" ("One Shot, One Kill." An awesome War Action film with two professional army snipers who are assigned on a dangerous mission. From director, Luis Llosa. Starring: Tom Berenger and Billy Zane. It later spun a direct-to-video film franchise.)

Special Report: Siskel interviews Madonna on her recent track record of bad films while focusing on her successful music career and concerts. Despite of her great films with "Desperately Seeking Susan", "Dick Tracy", the concert documentary film, "Madonna: Truth or Dare" and "A League of Their Own". Her later film "Snake Eyes" now known as "Dangerous Game" was another disaster. Luckily, she did "Evita" in 1996 but then did the forgettable stinker, the remake "Swept Away" in 2002.

Laserdisc Pick of the Month: Siskel's pick is "Nosferatu" (1922). (Ironically, Willem Dafoe would played him in the bio-pic, "Shadow of the Vampire" and would appear in the new 2024 version from writer/director, Robert Eggers.) And a recap of Today's program.
