Pomona Detectives Shoot Armed Suspect During Chase

On Friday, June 27, 2025, Pomona Police Detectives were conducting directed patrols along the East Holt Ave. corridor to address quality-of-life concerns. While patrolling near the 500 block of Holt Ave., Detectives saw a man riding a bicycle erratically through traffic. They attempted to stop him, but he ran. During the chase, the suspect produced a firearm and ignored commands to drop the weapon. He turned towards the Detectives while holding the gun, and this is when an officer-involved shooting occurred. After the shooting, officers rendered medical aid and began an assessment of the suspect’s injuries. The suspect was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover.
