The Song of Basuri A Tale from the Himalayas
The Song of Basuri In the quiet hills of Nepal, there was a small village called Basuri. Surrounded by green mountains and flowing rivers, the village lived in peace, far from the busy cities. Among the villagers lived a young boy named Arjun. Arjun had one treasure — a bamboo flute, called a basuri. It was old, worn, and passed down from his grandfather. Every evening, Arjun would sit by the hilltop and play his flute, sending soft, sweet melodies into the sky. The music was so pure that even the wind seemed to pause and listen. The villagers believed Arjun’s music brought the mountains to life and healed their tired hearts. One day, during a heavy storm, the village faced danger. The river began to rise and flood the fields. The villagers were scared, unsure what to do. But Arjun climbed the highest hill and played his basuri louder than ever. His music filled the stormy air, calming the wind and the rain. Slowly, the river’s fury softened, and the skies cleared. From that day on, the people of Basuri knew that Arjun’s flute was more than just an instrument — it was the heart of their village, a magical bond between them and the land. Whenever you hear the soft sound of a basuri flute, remember the boy who saved his village with the song of Basuri.
