Donald Trump has essentially thrown every asset he has at DC and homelessness in general. The National Guard, the FBI, DEA, are actively patrolling the streets like beat cops to arrest homeless people. Part of the plan that they have is forced institutionalization. But Trump doesn't want to address mental illness or the real causes of homelessness. Instead, he wants them out of sight, out of mind.
