Is David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde the Best Fight Card of the Year on Paper?

On November 22nd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, David Benavidez bends the knee to defend his WBC Light Heavyweight title against Anthony Yarde. Anthony Yarde is a serial journeyman who lost all his step-up fights.

This should be an easy fight for David. If he can get past the first five rounds unscathed, he should be able to stop Yarde late in the fight. Yarde has a history of fading late in fights and stamina issues.

David, on the other hand, is the total opposite. But let's look at the undercard. We have Brian Norman vs Devin Haney as the co-main event. Abdullah Mason vs Sam Noakes will fight for the vacant WBO Lightweight title.

In a unification match, Jesse Bam Rodriguez will defend his WBC and WBO Super Flyweight titles against IBF Champion Fernando Martinez. Subriel Matias will defend his WBC Super Lightweight title against undefeated Dalton Smith of the UK.

Artur Beterbiev will face knockout artist Deon Nicholson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This card is better than the Crawford vs. Canelo fight in Vegas on September 13th.

Notice I said on paper. We'll see how this fight card turns out for the fans. In other news, Adrien The Problem Broner explains how his loss to Marcos Maidana affected him.
