Children of Time: Uplift, Perception, and the Multiculture

The “Children of Time” saga by Adrian Tchaikovsky is a millennia-spanning series that breaks the mold of the standard space opera. Its basic theme is species uplift and though that’s not a novel idea, it explores the concept in a deeper, more thorough way than other writers have. Is the story plausible and is there a message in all that speculation?
