How Beijing Shapes What Films You See at Festivals | Yan Ma

🚨 This is how the CCP shapes what films you see at festivals, says director Yan Ma.
When a film festival agrees to screen a movie the CCP doesn’t like, Chinese authorities force every Chinese filmmaker scheduled to attend to boycott.
Depending on the number of Chinese filmmakers on the original roster, this could mean huge losses.
The way the CCP manipulates Hollywood and the film industry reminds me of “The Collaboration: Hollywood’s Pact with Hitler.”
Think about it: when was the last time you saw a major Hollywood movie with a Chinese villain—instead of a Russian one? Or a story that challenges the Chinese Communist Party?
