Mark Essen (aka Messhof) has come a long way from drawing his Nidhogg Sprites in MS Paint. Wheel World’s Low-Poly 3D art-style is absolutely breathtaking, and the game as a whole manages to capture this beautifully unique aesthetic that has rarely been seen in gaming. And nothing brings this aesthetic together better than the music.

With the assistance of the incredible indie darling publisher: Annapurna Interactive, Messhof has managed to enlist the musical talents from the record label ‘Italians Do It Better’. You may even know the record label creator himself, Johnny Jewel, who has worked on many of your favourite shows like Twin Peaks and Mr. Robot as well as composed music for the mesmerizing Ryan Gosling movie ‘Drive’. We also have many tracks composed by JOON, who apparently took their music out on bike rides to test it for the perfect cycling vibe. And lastly (but certainly not least) we have the creator of one of my favourite goth rock albums ‘What I want from you is Sweet’, Orion Rigel Dommisse.

Together these three have created a truly fantastic one of a kind electric-pop album that is perfect for gaming, and for a cycle around town.
