Aimee Betro, a former Wisconsin woman with no prior criminal record, became the subject of a five-year international manhunt after allegedly attempting a revenge shooting in the UK in 2019 on behalf of her lover, Mohammad Nazir, and his father. Disguised in a hijab, Betro’s gun jammed during the first attempt, but she later returned and fired into the victim’s home before fleeing to the U.S., eventually disappearing overseas until being found in Armenia in 2024. A UK jury convicted her of conspiracy to murder and related charges, with sentencing scheduled for August 21, while Nazir and his father are already serving lengthy prison terms.
