My Issue, Defective Magazine Catch from Dirty Bird Industries:

The magazine catch is defective and clearly out of specifications. I have tested several different brands of MP5 magazines, and none of them function correctly. The magazine catch fails to lock into the magazine catch notch on the magazine’s body, resulting in the magazine falling out of the magwell.

It’s important to emphasize that this magazine catch is not a mil-spec AR-15 part; it is specifically designed for MP5, 9mm magazines. Upon measuring the defective part, I found that its thickness from the outside to the inside is 0.1490 inches, while the standard AR-15 mil-spec magazine catch measures 0.1565 inches. I know that the lack of material on the Dirty Bird magazine MP5 catch is the reason for the failure.

To prove my point, I also tested the standard magazine catch, which successfully locked and held the magazine in place. However, the magazine still exhibited movement and wobble due to the width discrepancy. This instability can lead to feeding issues, as the magazine is not securely held in the correct position during operation. I have been fighting with their customer service for a replacement part for over a month. I still do not have a proper magazine catch to fix the current issue.
