Only You Can Decide Your Path

I was looking at old pictures of myself and my son said to me…

“Dad, who's that fat guy on the beach?”

I laughed.

“That's me!”

“no way!” he said

“Dad you'd beat the crap out of that guy!”

Those pictures were from 5 years ago.

He doesn't remember me like that.

But had I followed a different path, I'd still be that guy.

My wife wouldn't be attracted to me, my kids wouldn't be inspired by me and think I'm Superman, I wouldn't have energy for them, I wouldn't be present, and wouldn't be exploding in every area of my life.

It's like a choose your own ending book…

I thank God I didn't take the easy road.

The easy way feels good for a moment but hurts forever.

It's looking back on your life for the rest of your life and seeing a soft, average man, or a guy who threw everything he had at his life and went all in.

It's blending in with most men who are okay being overweight with their bodies, average in their careers, and zoned out in their relationships.

That could have easily have been me but I decided to rise.

Now I’m living a life unrecognizable to the man I was 5 years ago.
