In the last episode we saw in Romans 16:17–20, Paul exhorts the Israelite believers in Rome to mark and avoid divisive men who teach contrary doctrines, driven by self-interest and deceitful speech. These false teachers—servants of their own bellies, not of Christ—aim to mislead the simple and fracture the assembly. Paul commends the Romans for their obedience but urges them to remain wise in goodness and uncorrupted by evil. He then prophesies the imminent crushing of “Satan” under their feet—fulfilled in 70 AD when the Roman armies (Zarah Israelites) destroyed Jerusalem and broke the power of the Edomite Pharisees, ending their corrupt priesthood. This bruising of Satan echoes Genesis 3:15 and confirms Christ's promise of authority over all adversaries (Luke 10:19), not merely spiritual, but flesh-and-blood enemies within the covenant community.
This adversarial power, scattered after 70 AD, reemerged across Europe through a long pattern of expulsions, ghettos, and eventually subversive reintegration into Christian society. From the rabbinic councils and ghetto walls to financial domination via the Rothschild dynasty and the founding of global banking systems, the synagogue of Satan (Rev. 2:9; 3:9) rebuilt Babylon through commerce, corruption, and control. Their influence spread through revolutions, wars, lawmaking, entertainment, and medicine—undermining every Christian institution and moral order. Though often expelled for their destructive fruits, modern humanism allowed them back in, fulfilling the warnings of Moses and the prophets: they became thorns in our sides (Num. 33:55), infiltrators sowing tares among the wheat (Matt. 13:38–43), leading once-Christian nations into degeneracy and judgment. Paul's warning wasn’t just local—it was prophetic.
