Job 17:3 says, “Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?”

Job’s cry points us to Christ — the Surety who went lower than the lowest man to pay for sin. Pride keeps men from meeting Him at the bottom, but humility opens the way. Imagine bringing your bag of sins to Jesus: He covers it with His blood, and you rise a clean saint.
