David Afsharirad was an Associate Editor at Baen Books. For five years, he was the editor of Baen's The Best Military and Adventure SF series; he also edited the all-Davids anthology The Chronicles of Davids. His short fiction has appeared in various anthologies and magazines. He lives in Austin, TX.

He has a training in law and has worked as a securities lawyer at a major international firm and inhouse at two multinational semiconductor manufacturers before setting up in solo practice. He is a consultant and corporate trainer, teaching business acumen to employees of world-class companies.

Dave is a lover of language and languages, a guitarist and self-recorder, and a serious reader. He is married to a powerful and clever woman (also a novelist) and they have three devious children, but they don’t appear much in his blog (they do recur with some frequency in his social media posts). Dave's blog, with all its meandering and changes of pace, is about writing.
