For Heidegger, a phenomenon is something that shows itself from itself. This is myself 'in myself' and is picked up by the observer (the subject) intuitively. This suggests that being in itself can be perceived by another in sympathy with the being observed by another in relation. This goes deeper than appearances and shows an inner life by which we are all connected. And we get here a semblance of Jung's collective unconscious.
