Spirit - Soul - Body Part 5: Who's in Charge?

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it."

Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

When you accepted Jesus (born again), your body nor your soul didn't change. But, you were given a new spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

2 Corinthians 5:21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

1 John 2:16 What is in this world? The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life.

2 Corinthians 4:4 satan is the god of this world
1 John 4:4 Greater is He (God) in you, than he (god) that is in the world!

How does the spirit, soul, and body interact? The soul can either choose to yield to it's feelings or natural thoughts or yield to the spirit. Who is in charge of your choices?

When you make a mistake, just repent, and God forgives and it's gone.
When God looks at you in Christ, He sees Christ.
The mind, will, emotions (soul) has to be renewed in the Word.
When God sees you, He sees you perfect through the blood of Jesus.

As long as you are on the earth, you have to fight the good fight of faith.
We have to transform our thinking, so we can think the thoughts of God.

We have to metamorphosis like a butterfly, it's a process. Just because you are in the Word one day, don't expect to be automatically transformed. It's an ongoing process.

Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above.
How do you set your mind on things above? Example: setting cruise control.

Ephesians 2:6 You are seated in heavenly places. You may not feel like it, but you are!

Our thoughts and words become magnets and attracts what we are thinking and saying.

Proverbs 29:18 Without a vision the people perish.

Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit."

Refuse the lies of the enemy. God loves you! His love is never ending.
