001. Shri Krishna

Shri Krishna:

Parvati once asked Lord Shiva to narrate the divine tales of Krishna.

Shiva explained:
Vasudev, of Yadu’s lineage, was married to Devaki, sister of Kansa. A prophecy declared that Devaki’s eighth child would be Kansa’s slayer. Terrified, Kansa imprisoned Vasudev and Devaki, killing their first seven sons.

On Krishna’s birth at midnight, Vasudev secretly carried the child across the Yamuna, where Sheshnag sheltered him and the river parted. He exchanged the baby with Yashoda’s daughter in Gokul. The girl revealed herself as divine energy, warning Kansa of his destined death.

Krishna grew up in Gokul, performing miraculous deeds: killing Putana, breaking free from Yashoda’s bindings, slaying demons like Bakasura and Kaliya, and finally lifting Govardhan mountain to protect the people from Indra’s wrath. Thus, the divine child revealed his godhood through playful yet mighty acts.

Parvati’s Curiosity:
"Once, Goddess Parvati requested Lord Shiva to reveal the divine stories of Lord Krishna. Shiva agreed and began narrating the tale of his incarnation."

Prophecy and Kansa’s Fear:
Kansa driving Devaki’s wedding chariot, suddenly hearing a booming divine voice from the sky announcing his death from her eighth son. "At Devaki’s wedding, a heavenly prophecy declared—Kansa would be slain by her eighth son. Terrified, Kansa imprisoned Devaki and Vasudeva."

Birth of Krishna:
Midnight prison cell glowing with divine light, baby Krishna in Devaki’s lap, Vasudeva bowing. "One stormy night, on Krishna Ashtami, Lord Hari incarnated as Devaki’s eighth son, revealing his divine form to his parents."

Vasudeva’s Journey:
Vasudeva carrying infant Krishna in a basket across the overflowing Yamuna, Sheshnag spreading his hoods above. "Vasudeva carried the infant across the flooded Yamuna. The waters parted at Krishna’s touch, while Sheshnag shielded the divine child."

Exchange with Yashoda:
Vasudeva placing baby Krishna beside sleeping Yashoda, while leaving her newborn daughter in prison. "Reaching Gokul, Vasudeva exchanged Krishna with Yashoda’s daughter and quietly returned to the prison."

Kansa and the Goddess:
Kansa holding the baby girl above his head, she transforms into a goddess in the sky, warning him of his doom. "When Kansa tried to kill the baby girl, she transformed into a goddess, declaring Krishna’s birth and his destined end."

Krishna’s Childhood Leelas:

Putana’s Death:
"Kansa sent demons to kill Krishna. Putana, disguised as a mother, tried to poison him. But Krishna sucked out her life instead." Baby Krishna sucking milk from Putana, while the demoness shrieks in pain.

Yashoda Binding Krishna:
Little Krishna tied with a rope to a wooden mortar, smiling mischievously. "Mischievous Krishna stole butter and curd. When Gopis complained, Yashoda tied him to a mortar—but he uprooted two huge trees effortlessly."

Slaying Demons:
Krishna defeating Bakasura (giant bird) and dancing on Kaliya serpent’s hoods. "Even as a child, Krishna killed mighty demons like Bakasura, Dhenukasura, and subdued the serpent Kaliya."

Lifting Govardhan:
Krishna smiling, effortlessly holding up Govardhan mountain on his little finger, while villagers and cows take shelter. "When Indra unleashed torrential rains, Krishna lifted Govardhan mountain to protect the people of Vraja, proving his supreme divinity."

Shiva’s Conclusion:
Lord Shiva finishing his narration, Parvati listening with folded hands, both glowing with serenity. "Thus, Lord Shiva narrated the wondrous deeds of Krishna—protector and the divine child who came to uphold dharma."
