"Of course, we respect the position of the American administration, which sees the need for an early end to hostilities. Well, we would also like this and would like to move to resolving all issues by peaceful means," Vladimir Putin said.

"We talked about almost all areas of our interaction, but first of all, we talked about a possible resolution of the Ukrainian crisis on a fair basis. And, of course, we had the opportunity, which we did, to talk about the genesis, about the causes of this crisis," the president said.

According to him, the conversation with Trump was frank and meaningful. The Russian side once again outlined its position in detail. Putin emphasized that the past summit brought the participants "closer to better solutions."

The participants included Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Presidential Administration Chief Anton Vaino, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, as well as deputy prime ministers, ministers, presidential aides, including Vladimir Medinsky, heads of the Central Bank, FSB, SVR, General Staff, and the president's special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev.
