Return of the Lequios Part 8.

Was Fernao Mendes Pinto shipwrecked in Ryukyu? Or has history misidentified his "Ilha de Fuego" — the Island of Fire?

Modern academia clings to Ryukyu as the setting for Pinto’s legendary account of the Lequios, but they’ve failed to test the text. In this video, we dismantle the Ryukyu theory with real linguistic, geographic, and historical analysis — and we prove that Pinto’s real Island of Fire was in the northern Philippines — Batanes.

Linguistic fingerprints in Pinto’s account match Ivatan and Tagalog, not Ryukyuan. Place names like Tayid-Akonol, Pungor, Sipautor, and even Gundexilau have no counterpart in Japan — but fit Batanes perfectly.

We expose how Jesuit translators manipulated Pinto’s manuscript and how colonial bias continues to bury the Philippines from its rightful place in global history.
