Air Canada flight attendant union refuses to end strike

Air Canada flight attendants continue their strike despite a Canada Industrial Relations Board ruling it “unlawful” and a government back-to-work order.

The walkout, now in its third day, has stranded roughly 500,000 passengers.

The union, CUPE, demands higher pay and compensation for ground time, rejecting the airline’s recent offer, the BBC has reported.

Leaders say they are willing to face fines or jail rather than end the strike without a negotiated settlement, while the government and industry groups urge a swift resolution.
