The Favor of the Lord is Upon Us • Sunday Service

Today, we gather to remind ourselves of the unwavering favor of the Lord that rests upon us, even in our darkest moments. Through scripture, we find assurance that God's favor is a shield around us, guiding and protecting us as we navigate life's challenges.

Psalm 5:12 (NKJV):
"For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield."

Luke 4:18-19 (NKJV):
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

Isaiah 61:1-2 (NKJV):
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn."

Psalm 90:17 (NKJV):
"And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands."

As we reflect on these scriptures, let us be encouraged that God's favor is indeed upon us. In every trial and challenge, His favor surrounds us like a shield, empowers us for His mission, comforts us in our sorrow, and blesses the work of our hands. Therefore, let us not lose hope but continue to press ahead in Jesus Christ, knowing that His favor will guide and sustain us through every season of life.
