left the door half open, hinges crooked, frame misfit
thought about fixin' it... but never quite did
whole place sags like it mirrors my spine
yeah, it holds... just barely... (most of the time)

my head’s an attic, just shit stacked in rows
half-labeled boxes with stories i outgrew but never closed
kept pushin’ it aside, like that makes it less real
but the floorboards creek reminders under every heel

patched the holes in the walls with tired intent
tried linin' up the edges but the posts all bent
got a staircase built out of should-have-beens
but every step caves in before i get a step in

i joke like it helps...
but it don’t hold weight
tried balancing acts...
but i just swayed
and maybe that’s life...
or maybe that’s me
either way...
shit breaks predictably

i’ve been draggin' dead bolts
through unlocked doors
tryna brace for collapse
in a house with no floors

cus no matter how i patch it...

this part’s where the resolution’s supposed to hit... cute..

got memories stored like chipped white paint
peelin’ off walls with whatever i ain't
tried coverin' 'em up with fresh new coats
but the stains bleed through... yeah, that’s how it goes

my plans feel brittle, snap in my brain
like cheap wood shelves that were never well-made
i line 'em with hopes, but the screws don’t fit
watch 'em buckle under weight... guess that’s it

this the part where someone cuts the music down low
and says somethin’ profound...
yeah, nah... i don’t know
maybe i’m drifting...
between the cracks
just empty space...
without looking back
