Reason Why You Dont Send Social Workers to a Domestic

On July 27, 2025, Cathedral City Police dispatch received a 911 call regarding a verbal disturbance at 03:11pm between family members. Cathedral City Police Officer M. Ayala arrived on scene to make contact with the involved parties. As Officer M. Ayala walked to the front door of the residence. Juan Francisco Sosa Jr. rushed at Officer Marcus Ayala with a knife. After a struggle and as more officers arrived on scene, Officer Marcus Ayala gained control of the suspect and knife. Juan Francisco Sosa Jr. was arrested on scene and charged for 664/187 PC (Attempted Murder).
