Baby Intruder Alert at Perch Up Time!

I just happen to be recording tonight's perch up and towards the end you will see on the right, on the ground a baby racoon that snuck in during the day while the door was open. You will notice that the hens were uneasy and very active jumping up and down from perch to perch. Luckily my brother was here and caught the baby racoon and it will not be returning.

What you didn't see is mama raccoon was right outside looking for her baby. Mama ran off when she heard my brother and myself come out to find the baby. I am sure mama racoon will be around awhile searching for her baby. Very worrisome.

The chickens were not harmed. They are safe. Everyone was frazzled but now they are relaxing and everyone seems to be back to normal. I think I will be removing some obvious hiding spots. It kinda freaked me out knowing I go sticking my hands in some of those hiding spaces. My brother said he saw it come out of one of the little houses before he caught it. Whew! Glad that is over for tonight. Good night, sweet dreams!
