Fatal Confrontation in Buffalo: Police Bodycam Captures Knife Attack

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Bodycam footage shows the fatal police shooting of 60-year-old Hugh Davis Jr. in North Buffalo.

Police went to arrest Davis for an earlier assault case. Officers knocked on his door, claiming they had property to return. Suddenly, part of the door broke off, revealing Davis armed with a knife.

He lunged at officers, ignoring commands to drop the weapon. One officer fired three shots, killing him on the spot.

The State Attorney General’s Office is investigating. All four officers are on paid leave while the case remains under review.
