Karachi roads turn to rivers with more torrential rains forecast

Torrential monsoon rains lashed Pakistan's commercial capital Karachi on Tuesday (August 19), causing traffic gridlock and power outages, a regional government spokesperson said. Authorities said 145 mm (5.7 inches) of rain had fallen in the city and that there could be more urban flooding in Pakistan's south, including Karachi.
