“I suffered a lot”: Stranded Air Canada passengers facing headwinds getting compensated

Air Canada plans to gradually resume flights starting Tuesday evening, after it reached a tentative agreement with the union representing its flight attendants.

But cancellations hit more than 500,000 travellers over recent days and getting stranded passengers to their destinations won’t happen overnight.

Federal air passenger protection regulations mean travellers are entitled to rebook a flight or receive a cash refund. But passengers say they’re facing headwinds when it comes to getting back what they’re owed.

Global’s Heidi Petracek spoke with stranded passengers to find out more about the frustrations they’re facing
