Man indicted in 1996 disappearance of 11-year-old Trudy Appleby

Nearly 29 years after 11-year-old Trudy Appleby vanished in Moline, Illinois, authorities have arrested Jamison Fisher, 50, on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of concealing a homicidal death.

Appleby disappeared in August 1996 after being seen entering a car with an unidentified man; her body was never found.

Fisher, a longtime person of interest and family acquaintance, was indicted by a Henry County grand jury and remains in custody in Iowa on unrelated charges, USA Today has reported.

Police say the case has haunted investigators and the community for decades, emphasizing the arrest brings accountability, though not closure.
