This Is What Happens When My Wife Eats Beans
A Phone In My Pocket
Beans are good for you, but moderation is the key.
My wife said, "No more beans, burps, toots, and regrets by sundown."

HOT PEPPERS JALAPENO BANANA FROM BUCKETS TO JARS
A Phone In My Pocket
Are you a fan of hot peppers? Do you love the heat and flavor they bring to your favorite dishes? Whether you have a spacious backyard or just a balcony, you can grow jalapeno and banana peppers in buckets, containers, or traditional garden beds. After harvest, you can safely preserve them for future use. Canning is a popular method that allows you to enjoy the flavors of summer all year round. I prefer to pick banana peppers that are red and/or dark yellow to orange. If you can't take the heat, use only Banana peppers as they are on the milder side, compared to Jalapeno peppers. Our local farmers' markets always have these for sale if you don't grow your own.
I have included the recipe below. They are so good, but only if you like it HOT!
1 Peck of Hot Peppers (8qts)
Wash and slice into 1-inch pieces
Soak in 1 Cup of Saltwater for 2 hours, drain, add the following ingredients to a large pot, and bring to a boil, add peppers, and bring to a boil again.
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups Canola Oil
3 Cups of Vinegar
2 Tbls of Paprika
Add peppers to hot canning jars, place 2 pieces of garlic cloves in the bottom of jars and 2 pieces on top of the hot peppers, prior to sealing.
Seal hot jars with hot lids and let them cool. While cooling, lids should pop to seal.
They are so good!

FROZEN WATER FALLS, DEVIL STICKS, FLOWER STICKS, JUGGLING
A Phone In My Pocket
The manipulation of the devil stick (also devil-sticks, devilsticks, flower sticks, bâtons fleurs, stunt sticks, gravity sticks, or juggling sticks) is a form of gyroscopic juggling or equilibristics, consisting of manipulating one stick ("baton", 'center stick') between one or two other sticks held one in each hand. The baton is lifted, struck, or stroked by the two control sticks ('handsticks', 'sidesticks', or 'handles'), stabilizing the baton through gyroscopic motion.[1]
Manipulating devil sticks is one of the circus arts and is sometimes called devil-sticking, twirling, sticking, or stick juggling.

Cedar Stump Rehab
A Phone In My Pocket
I cut two cedar trees down probably 2 decades ago and we sawed out the lumber. I kept the stump from one of the trees and I am now trying to resurrect it for the wildlife. The bottom had rotted from sitting on the ground and the core is now hollow, perfect hiding place for chipmunks. I sawed off the bottom and made a passage clear through.

Bats, Bat House not Cat House
A Phone In My Pocket
I like bats as they eat lots of insects including mosquitoes during the summer months. They are the only mammal that can fly. They don't migrate but hibernate during the winter. I've wanted to build a Bat House. Good winter project...

As the saying goes, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” So everyone dig in and get the day off to a great start with a good meal! My dad told me he could eat as soon as his feet hit the floor.

CALL 911
A Phone In My Pocket
I knew better and should have secured it to my buggy. I've never been accused of being smart. When it fell it took me and the saw with it. It's a Cedar stump. I cut down two cedars years ago and my dad and I sawed out the lumber on our mill. I've used this as a bird feeder stand for years and should have stained it and kept it off the ground to help preserve it. Now I'm attempting to resurrect it. Attempting...

Do You Know What This Is?
A Phone In My Pocket
My dear friend Art carved this and gave it to me. He carved and painted beautiful life size Loons. He sold them locally and they were in so much demand that he kept raising his price in hopes that no one else would want one. He and his dog Tippy were both 46ers and had climbed all of the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks. I think he may have done them all at least twice and some of his favorites several times! He climbed Mount Marcy on his 80th Birthday and his daughter also planned to do the same this summer. I should stop in and visit with her and her husband. I've said that about many friends and family over the years but seldom follow through. Then I always live to regret it. Life is precious and short, real short.
