😱 TENANTS CAUGHT Removing Fire Alarm Batteries!? 🚨 Big Legal & Safety Problem!

I can’t even believe I had to deal with THIS today… 🤯 The previous tenants actually removed the batteries from the smoke detectors. Do you realize how reckless that is?! In property management, this is a HUGE violation—not only dangerous but also illegal in many states.
Imagine if a fire had broken out… NO alarms, NO warning, and possibly lives lost. 🔥 This isn’t just “forgetting to replace a battery,” this is flat-out tampering with fire safety equipment.
As a landlord or property manager, it’s our job to ensure all detectors are working before new tenants move in. After that, it’s their responsibility. But when someone intentionally disables a smoke detector, it puts everyone at risk—including the homeowner, the neighbors, and even the property manager if something goes wrong.
So here’s my question:
👉 Should tenants who tamper with fire alarms face hefty fines and possible eviction?
👉 Or do you think it’s just a careless mistake?
I replaced the batteries ✅, secured the property 🔒, and made sure the home is safe again. But wow… this one still blows my mind.
