Doing This Hurts Your Marriage More Than Anything Else

If you’re going to run, then run to something—not away from it.

Running away in marriage looks like escaping the hard stuff, shutting down the tough conversations, and avoiding being honest about what’s really happening inside of you. It feels easier in the moment, but it only deepens the distance.

Running to something means moving toward healing, toward change, toward a stronger marriage. It means leaning into the discomfort—having the conversations, facing the hurt, and being real about what’s underneath the surface.

Run if you must. But make sure you’re running in the right direction.

And if you’re tired of running in circles, that’s exactly why I created Marriage in Bloom, my six-month marriage intensive designed to help couples heal past wounds, reset communication, and rebuild trust from the ground up.
