From Alaska to Beijing—The Potential for Win-Win Cooperation
The Aug. 15 Alaska summit between U.S. and Russian presidents Trump and Putin has produced a shockwave throughout the world, and has derailed what was undoubtedly an impending confrontation between the United States and Russia. The British and their European gnomes, what CIA analyst Ray McGovern has aptly termed the “Coalition of the Braindead,” are doing everything they can to prevent a permanent peace settlement between Ukraine and Russia, as they throw out ridiculous proposals for a “ceasefire” and Article-5 like security guarantees for Ukraine.
Frankly, the Europeans are dead in the water and have nothing to offer of substance. That does not mean, however, that further provocations won’t be orchestrated to derail the peace process now taking place after the Alaska summit. Helga Zepp-LaRouche’s proposal for a three-way summit of presidents Trump, Putin, and Xi Jinping at the upcoming Sept. 3 celebration in Beijing of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific in World War II, is the most effective deterrent to such provocations.
The systemic breakdown crisis underway in the trans-Atlantic financial sector, which has been ongoing since August 15, 1971, with President Nixon’s decision to delink the dollar from the gold-reserve system, is not being addressed in any way by the Trump Administration’s economic policies, including the takeover of the dollar system and treasury market with trillions of dollars of crypto-assets.
This could be addressed, in a trilateral meeting between Presidents Trump, Putin and Xi, if such proposals at the Bering Strait tunnel project to link the rail systems of Eurasia with the Americas, were adopted. Russia and China have committed to developing the New Land Grain Corridor (NLGC), which would connect China with the nations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and vastly expand trade in world grain supplies. Such issues of trade, tariffs, and world food supply would be an important issue to discuss at Sept. 3rd Beijing meeting.
It’s our job to make that happen. As the BRICS+ nations outflank Trump’s foolish tariff policies, and as farmers, consumers, and manufacturers largely bear the burden, a new direction can be charted, towards worldwide economic development, cooperation, and win-win policies which benefit everyone involved. Bob Baker, a farmer, and long-time member of the LaRouche Movement, will be on to discuss these potential changes as it relates to reviving farming in the United States.
