What in the actual fuck, Canada?

Now this really pisses me off.

I have a friend — a Canadian veteran — who served in the JTF2 squad. He’s now 54 years old, battling cancer and severe PTSD as a direct result of serving this country.

Ontario Disability pays him next to nothing. He can’t afford housing here in Ontario or even cover the cost of living for himself and his two children. As a result, he’s been in and out of shelters for several years now.

And here’s where it gets absolutely infuriating.

If you go visit some of the hotels now being used as shelters — or check out the Salvation Army shelters — you’ll notice something bizarre: they’re filled with immigrants. Not only that, but the parking lots are full of brand-new luxury vehicles. I mean every single car — not one beater in the bunch. We’re talking brand new, top-of-the-line rides.

So let me get this straight:
My 54-year-old veteran friend, who risked his life for Canada, can’t afford a car — yet these newly arrived immigrants are being given enough support to afford brand-new luxury vehicles, and they’re still in the shelters?

Can someone make that make sense?

My friend is receiving half the income that these immigrants are getting from the Canadian government. And yet he’s staying at the same shelters as them. On top of that, they’re being handed grocery passes, grocery gift cards, gas gift cards — and none of these are accessible to my friend.

My parents also volunteer at a local church that accepts donations — food, clothing, small furniture, bikes — you name it. The church runs a free store for the public. But on the days that store opens to serve homeless Canadians? The place is flooded with immigrants arriving in brand-new vehicles, loading up their trunks with as much as they can carry — all for free.

And when you dig a little deeper?
You find out many of them are turning around and selling those donated items online for profit.

What in the actual fuck, Canada?

And of course, if you even dare to speak up — if you suggest limiting access to shelters or donated goods, or question this blatant inequality — you’ll be immediately labeled a racist.

So tell me…
How the fuck do we fix this?
