Russia bombs US factory in Ukraine in one of war’s largest attacks

Russia launched one of its largest aerial assaults of the war, firing over 570 drones and 40 missiles mainly at western Ukraine, far from the front lines.

A strike hit Flex Ltd, a Texas-based electronics manufacturer in Mukachevo, killing one person, injuring 15, and sparking a major fire with 600 workers inside.

Ukraine called the attack deliberate targeting of civilian businesses, noting it followed earlier strikes on US firms like Boeing. Poland scrambled jets during the barrage but reported no airspace violations.

President Zelensky condemned Moscow for escalating despite ongoing peace talks, urging allies to increase sanctions.

Meanwhile, Ukraine struck Russian oil facilities and revealed a new long-range missile, the Flamingo, capable of reaching 3,000km, The Guardian has reported.

Diplomatic efforts continue, with Zelensky seeking concrete security guarantees ahead of possible negotiations, while US and European allies debate how to structure future defense commitments.
