AB 495: A Dangerous Attack on Parents’ Rights

I’m here at the California State Capitol in Sacramento with my good friend Brad Dacus, President of the Pacific Justice Institute. Brad explains why AB 495 is one of the most dangerous bills he’s ever seen—an unprecedented attack on parental rights and the family.

This bill could allow a stranger, trafficker, or even an estranged spouse to take a child from school or even a homeschool environment with nothing more than a self-printed affidavit. No judge, no social worker, no background check. The risks for children and families are staggering.
